Notes From the Author

I hope to use this blog as a diary of sorts, in order to document my quest of perfecting my skills. Areas that I am particularly fond of include: photography, gardening, cooking - baking -canning, painting - sketching and of course writing. Like so many others, the word 'perfection' haunts me. I strive to reach it daily not truly knowing what it is or how to achieve it. Yet, I won't settle for less. Here is my blog showing my struggles and my hopeful successes. I don't need to be perfect but I must try to ascertain it.

Living the Moments

For me, there are two realms of writing in which my life fluctuates between. The physical realm where I spend my time actively writing, researching, and daydreaming about a particular piece or pieces of literature; and the living realm where I castoff from my notebooks and computer, put down my pen and focus on living my own life. A sabbatical - where my writer's mind has time to focus on the here and now and not the plot and characters. But even on hiatus, I am ever the writer. The first time I made the decision to shift into the living realm, I was in college. Life was happening all around me and I made the choice to stop observing and live it to the fullest. Looking back, this strategy not only gave me ample experiences to draw from for my writing but it was the right time in my life to live such a carefree lifestyle - a lifestyle that is beyond my reach now.

Recently, I once again, reached a point in my life where it was time to shift into the living realm - sharing and experiencing the precious moments life has to offer; but now, as those moments are still ever present, I am ready to slowly begin the transition back to the physical realm - hopefully, and accomplish some of my writing goals.
